A painted cell from one of my current projects. He holds the flower from his girl, who has been separated from him. At this stage he is mournful, feeling lost and confused. This is one of my fave poses that came out of this project. Its supposed to be dirty/scrappy quality because it matches the figure that sits there.

I like this drawing because it is simple, subdued and sketchy, with a powerful expression. Grayscale is the right choice for this drawing; I can't imagine it would have worked in colour.

Very nice work! This will be a favourite.
I love the way you do your characters' faces. This one in particular looks very professional, well done and conveys alot of emotion with very simple and believable facial cues.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it enough to fave it LOL i didnt know whether to submit it or not since it was an animation cell. That's true, color would have spoiled the mood.

thanks for taking the time to leave a descriptive comment, it's much appreciated!

thanks! when doing animation, it seems alot easier to capture facial expressions.. like watching the cells move helps better understand what should be shown. it's quite a learning experience.

You're very welcome. There are not enough descriptive comments on devArt. :)
If that's what one cell looks like, it should be quite impressive when you put it all together!
