A very late happy 110th birthday (October 4th) to Buster Keaton. I had to do something and it took me 4 days to get it done! The black speech-bubbles are a nice change, it falls in with the silent film dialogues. The linework and coloring is messy, as usual. You should be used to that by now LOL The idea for a look-a-like actor came from the idea that James Karen looks ALOT like Bus when dressed in his costume. But this particular human is not Mr. Karen. He's just someone I made up.

Anyway, the screencap is from [link] ..Have a look at that site, it's an interesting one filled with great pix and location info. For the locations you see here, visit the annual site [link] The Muskegon Train Depot doors (first scene), Pidgeon hill beside Muskegon Lake, Pascoe's Place, and the Frauenthal Theatre. I love using real locations, it makes the adventure more real for me.

Aw, I really liked this. I loved the black speech bubbles, especially. It gives it a different flair and really does tie in well with the silent film captions. I dunno, I found myself really happy reading this!

My name is Faren and I am not too fancy.
=D I absolutely love this! I love the scenes at the top with Tig around the baseball diamond and walking on the tracks, the black speech bubbles rock, and the sepia-like colours hold the whole thing together so well! It makes me feel so nostalgic. :( My favourite frame is the picture inside the theater. It makes me think of old concert halls and men with tophaps and long, red theater courtains. :) And I love, most of all, the atomosphere of it all. It makes me wish I were born 50 years earlier, too. :) Excellent job!

lol this is Harp the red panda.. Tig is the cat. :)

I used those colors because people often colorized silent films, day scenes (indoors and outdoors) were often a blinding yellow, and night scenes were blue. I used sepia because I wanted to show that we were now indoors, it brings that home-like feeling. You can see how beautiful the inside of the Frauenthal Theatre is at [link] I believe it was built in the 1920s, and was recently restored to its original glory.

hehe 50 years ago, we wouldn't have computers and good medicine.. if only we could live in a world frozen in time, but still have access to those essential things.

Awww..

Harp is a melancolic character, somewhat. The situation is sad, but he is rewarded in the end. :)

Ooh. It's a great creation. I like picture of Harp walking on rail so much.
That "close to black & white" style is just amazing!
